João Cancelo iterating the fact that Barça was his dream club and how difficult it was for him to turn down Barça calls

The Portuguese international and Barcelona right back has fumed out how it was impossible for him to turn down FC Barcelona’s call.

João Cancelo was sent on a six months loan by his parent club, Manchester city in the 2022/23 season. He returned to the club in the summer and yet the club had no plans for him.

However, FC Barcelona came calling but due to the financial fair play rules, the deal was delayed which was a risk he took in order for him to join his dream club.

“My life is always about risk, but i will be thankful with Manchester city. Always” João said.

João Cancelo had always opted for Barça and no other club. He believes Manchester city is the best team in the world currently but he wanted to fulfill his childhood dreams.

“My family knows that my dream club was Barça. It was a risk to keep pushing for this move, for sure…. but i only wanted FC Barcelona. When Barça calls you, you have to go” João Cancelo added.
