The former Ambassador for France to Ghana, Annie Sophie Ave in an interview last Friday, 1st of August,2023 shared how some individuals have decided not to allow the system work properly but rather manipulate the system which in the long run causes frustration.
Annie Sophie Ave, in an interview with Andy Dosty on Day Break Hitz, shared some of the reasons people are finding the system of acquiring a visa to be able to travel very frustrating.
“Some people are buying the slots to sell them back to people,” Annie revealed.
“Actually, they are using some insiders who were on their mobile phones and refreshing the Visa facilitation service (VFS) website until there was a slot available and they would buy it with a fake passport number name; pay GH¢70 to book that slot and sell it back for GH¢800 and all they had to do is to refresh and refresh and buy the slot and sell it back”. She said.
The former Ambassador, cited an unacceptable scenario that happened in the last day of her tenure of office, were list of different names of the same phone number had got slots from her embassy.
“In my last month in office, what i was going through every Friday was asking the VFS for the list of appointments for the next three months and then i will sort them out by phone numbers, by Email and by motive of travel and when i did that, I saw that 60 applications had the same phone number. I was just cancelling immediately. So,60.” Annie Sophie Ave iterated.
