Lille OSC considering the fact that they would need to strengthen their squad for next season, the club have completed the signing of Samuel Umtiti.
The French international and the FC Barcelona defender has agreed to begin a new chapter in his country club, Lille OSC due to the refusal of FC Barcelona extending his contract.
Samuel Umtiti who scored one of the most significant goal in the 2018 Fifa world cup semi-final stage for France which propelled them to going into the finals and winning the cup as well lost his position in the FC Barcelona team due to some injuries and dip in form in the past few years.
In the 2022/23 season, Umtiti tried gaining his confidence and his form back by gaining more playing time hence, He went on loan with Lecce in the Italian Serie-A, however, he had more playing time but FC Barcelona was still not impressed and Interested in extending Umtiti’s contract.
The French defender has agreed and completed the signing of a permanent deal with Lille OSC.
