The former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint Germain manager, Mauricio pochettino has defended his players with respect to their in ability to live up to expectations on the field.
The two times UEFA champions league winners, Chelsea FC in the 2022/23 season wasn’t able to make it to Europe due to bad performances an inability to win games.
Meanwhil, this new season has seen huge changes in the Chelsea set up, from the managerial sector down to the playing body and yet, nothing has changed.
In the summer transfer, Chelsea embarked you on a very strategic transfer dealings, showing most of their under performing players the exit door and recruiting youngsters into the team.
However, in the four rounds of games Chelsea FC has featured in the 2023/24 English premier league hasn’t been nothing to write home about. The fans have been furious with the performances of the players which hasn’t fetched the club any decent points.
The manager, Mauricio pochettino has defended his players and he believes with time, the players would come good.
“Players are not machines. For example — Real Madrid paid big amount of money for one player and his name is Zinedine zidane. He was an amazing player, and after six months you can ask the fans of Real Madrid and they say: what have we bought?”
“He started to perform after seven, eight months. Zinedine Zidane was 26,27 years old”.
Mauricio further pleaded with the fans to have patience and that, the players will gel and start performing very well on the pitch.
“When you bring a player that is 18,19,20, 21 – becareful and give them time” Mauricio pochettino said.
