“I was in the hospital when I was called” – Woman in tears as Lagos State Govt demolishes her house, others (Video)

Woman breaks down in tears as the Lagos State Government demolishes her house alongside 12 others in the Ajao Estate area of the state.

A video making the rounds on social media captured the moment houses worth millions of naira was brought down following the order of the government.

The state authorities have blamed the demolition, which commenced on Friday, on illegal occupation and construction in close proximity to the Murtala International Airport, Lagos.&Quot;I Was In The Hospital When I Was Called&Quot; - Woman In Tears As Lagos State Govt Demolishes Her House, Others (Video)

The General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Gbolahan Oki, provided several reasons for the demolition while addressing reporters.

Oki stated that the buildings lacked the necessary approvals and were located in restricted areas around the airport, while some were situated near aviation fuel pipelines.

He further added that this situation could result in a potential disaster, such as a fire outbreak from the pipeline, which could lead to the loss of both lives and properties.

The builders were said to have failed to possess the required documents and approvals for constructing in that particular area.
