Ashantigold SC secures an injunction from the court to prevent the 2023/24 season from beginning
Ashantigold SC after been demoted from the top flight league to the second division by the Ghana football Association for their involvement in match manipulation. Ashantigold have secure an injunction which prevent’s the 2023/24 Ghana premier league season from commencing.
In the last few months, the professional players who were alleged to be involved in the match fixing scandal were vindicated after they appealed the initial ruling by the disciplinary committee of the Ghana football Association to CAF.
On a writ dated, 24 August, 2023, Ashantigold SC secured an injunction from an Accra High court which prevent the upcoming GPL season from commencing.
However, The Ghana football Association also banned the administrators of Ashanti Gold, beginning from the President of the club, Kweku Frimpong, the C.E.O, Emmanuel Frimpong, the team manager as well and the coach of Ashanti Gold.
This is the court injunction issued to the plaintiff, Ashanti Gold SC which is to be served and honoured by the the Ghana football Association.
