CAF approves stadia in Ghana to host 2026 Fifa world cup qualifiers

Confederation of African football has given the green lights for two of the stadia in Ghana to host all the up coming 2026 Fifa world cup qualifiers.

The initial round of the qualifiers are scheduled for November. The two stadia approved by CAF are Baba Yara sports stadium and the Cape coast sports stadium.

Ghana has in group I which includes, Mali, Madagascar, Central African Republic, Comoros and Chad.

The format of qualifying has been change a little due to the increase of the total number of African countries that would be given the opportunity to participate in the next world which would take place in three different countries namely, United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Nine groups of six team will play home-and-away. However, the leader of the group qualify automatically while the top four best teams are segregated to play in a run-off.

Ghana is expected to begin their qualifying campaign by facing of Comoros at home on November 13,2023.
