Ampem Darkoa ladies FC have arrived safely in Ghana
The WAFU zone B tournament champions, Ampem Darkoa ladies FC have finally arrived in Accra, Ghana after winning the championship.
Ampem Darkoa ladies FC won the tournament after beating the Nigerian club Delta Queens in Benin city, Nigeria by 1:0 victory.
The history makers arrived in Ghana to meet a rousing welcome from the leadership of the Ghana football Association, the president of the F.A, Kurt Okraku and his vice Mark Addo and several other members of the G.F.A who are in the helm of affairs of Ghana football including the die hard football fans showed up at the Kotoka International Airport on Saturday, 2nd September,2023.
Ghana football Association president, Kurt Simeon-Okraku shared a heartwarming congratulatory message to the Ampem Darkoa ladies and their management for the success they’ve chopped in the Zone B tournament while he took the opportunity to advise the team to stay focus and work hard to be able to make history in the CAF women’s champions league competition they’re going to participate in.
“You have brought absolutely joy to Ghanaians, including my families. Congratulations to the playing body and technical staff on chalking this feat. I was never in doubt about the qualities in the team and also about you going to Nigeria to win the trophy, before you left.” He said.
“What happened in Nigeria is just the first step as the bigger target is the main championship slated for November in Ivory coast. This is the competition for all zonal champions, but looking at the quality of the team, nobody can doubt your abilities. Any kind of support that the GFA needs to offer will be provided for you to prepare very well for the task ahead.”
Kurt Simeon-Okraku further iterated that, he is going to hand over the huge responsibility of the team succeeding in to the hands of the leadership of Ampem Darkoa ladies FC.
“I will task your leader and Gifty Oware Mensah help the team prepare for ivory coast with the aim of bringing the cup home. Do remember that Ghana appreciate your win.
” We need to go to ivory coast and prove we are indeed champions of Africa and i have no doubt we will be able to do this. On behalf of the Ghana Football Association and the entire country, we say thank you!” Kurt Simeon-Okraku added.
